ποΈ 8-Day Moroccan Road Trip
Morocco
Before anything else, I want to clarify that this itinerary was a total adventure. I designed this route with the help of various traveler opinions, aiming to cover everything from Marrakech to the desert and the mountains, spending nights in diverse places. Though exhausting, I wouldn't trade this experience for anything. If you're not as adventurous and cultural shock overwhelms you, it's better to consider hiring an agency for a more tailored journey. Now, after this warning-clarification, here's the most wonderful and exhausting route of my life.
Marrakech: Chaos and Nighttime Charm π
My road trip started in Marrakech, the city of chaos. We arrived at night and had trouble picking up the pre-booked car because the car agency was closed. Ensure you arrive during the day, and if possible, rent the car there. We lost the reservation, but we took a taxi that dropped us at the zoko, finally reaching our Riad. We spent the night there, and the next day, our grand route began.

Agdz and Ouarzazate: Kasbahs and Amazing Nights π°
We headed to Agdz, passing through Ouarzazate. We visited Kasbah Taourirt, a typical Moroccan fortress. In Agdz, we stayed in an amazing Riad, enjoying a delicious dinner. The next morning, with a great Moroccan breakfast, we headed to the Erg Chebbi Desert.

Erg Chebbi: Luxury in the Desert ποΈ
We passed through towns like Nekob, Tazzarine, Alnif, and Erfoud, making stops to immerse ourselves in local experiences. Upon reaching the desert hotel, they offered to take us to the Luxury Camp by jeep, culminating in a stunning sunset on a dune and trying our hand at sandboarding. The first night, we marveled at a sky full of stars. Truly, I will never forget that sky!! I highly recommend this experience for couples; there is no more romantic and magical destination than Morocco. On the second night, we enjoyed a bonfire with live traditional music, and to cap off this unique experience, the next day, a camel ride at sunrise. Without a doubt, my favorite part of the trip and one I would repeat again.

Dades Gorges: Nature and Tradition ποΈ
After two nights at the Luxury Camp, we went to the Dades Gorges. We stayed in a typical Maison with spectacular views. We enjoyed the tranquility and took a river excursion, surrounded by nature.
Ait Ben Haddou: Night in a Kasbah π
We continued our journey to one of our almost-last destinations: Ait Ben Haddou. On the way, we passed by a giant palm oasis. In Ait Ben Haddou, we stayed in a Kasbah, an authentic palace with a spectacular pool.

To conclude this wonderful road trip, we continued to Marrakech, passing through Ouarzazate, the High Atlas Mountains, and the mountain pass of Tizin Tichka, with panoramic views. The last day in Marrakech, we dedicated to a free walking tour before saying goodbye to Morocco.
Below is, as I like it, a night-by-night summary of the itinerary.
Marrakech: 1 night
Agdz: 1 night
Erg Chebbi Desert: 2 nights
Dades Gorges: 1 night
Ait Ben Haddou: 1 night
